RXQ Compounding, LLC produces sterile medication for medical practices across the country, while also helping to stimulate local economic activity.
RXQ produces more than just high quality, sterile compounded medication for a variety of medical practices across the United States. The company also helps to aid economic activity in Southeast Ohio, through participation in the Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) Program.
RXQ’s recently completed state-of-the-art, 42,500 sq. ft. compounding facility is located within a HUBZone in Albany, OH. The location of this facility makes RXQ the only FDA registered 503B Outsourcing Facility located within a HUBZone in the United States.
A HUBZone is defined as ‘distressed rural and urban communities, typically having low median household incomes, high unemployment or both.’
The HUBZone Program, created by the U.S Small Business Administration (SBA), helps small businesses in urban and rural communities have preferred access to federal contracting dollars to encourage local economic development and growth. SBA’s overall goal of the program is to award at least three percent of federal contract dollars to HUBZone-certified businesses every year.
To be eligible for participation in the HUBZone Program, a business must meet the following criteria:
- Be a small business by SBA standards
- Be at least 51 percent owned and controlled by U.S. citizens, a Community Development Corporation, an agricultural cooperative, a Native Hawaiian organization, or an Indian tribe
- Have its principal office located within a HUBZone
- Have at least 35 percent of its employees live in a HUBZone
RXQ has been recognized as a HUBZone-certified business since July of 2017. RXQ’s participation in the program has helped the company to better serve our customers and our community through increased local economic activity. Over the past six years, we have created over 50 local jobs in various functions including: production, quality, and sales.
